Our faculty have robust scholarship agendas that generate knowledge in critical areas of health, health care, social services, and therapeutic interventions. Support is needed to create space for scholarly research that can be undertaken in partnership with our undergraduate and graduate students. Funds raised will provide the resources necessary to maintain our exceptional classroom teaching and learning while simultaneously expanding the amount and quality of research activity our faculty can pursue with our students.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Student scholarships are among the University\u2019s highest priorities. In addition, most internships and clinical placements in health and human services are unpaid but required for completion of degree programs. Many of our students cannot afford to take on unpaid internships in lieu of their regular paid jobs. Financial support can allow our students to transition, through unpaid internships, from their part-time jobs into their professional careers without the of burden taking on additional debt.<\/p>\n<\/div>

A new destination for the next generation<\/em><\/p>\n Our new College of Health and Human Services building will match the outstanding caliber of our nationally acclaimed academic programs and significantly increase our capacity to enroll undergraduate and graduate students who can meet the workforce needs of our region.<\/p>\n The building includes features such as a state-of-the-art health care simulation learning center, nursing labs, extensive human performance teaching and research labs, interprofessional collaboration center, and a new home for our Center for Communication Disorders Clinic.<\/p>\n Construction costs have been paid through state bond funds; however, additional staffing, programs, and specialized equipment are needed in order to fully realize the potential of this spectacular new building. Examples of equipment needs include high fidelity simulation manikins, motion capture treadmill and cameras for 3D movement analysis, bone density testing system, and virtual dissection table.
