Club Sports
Club Sports provides students with the opportunity to participate in structed competitions against other universities. Club sport teams are student run organizations that practice regularly, travel to compete and employ coaches to run practices and manage game rosters. Teams also organize fundraisers, participate in community service projects, and support their fellow club sport athletes.

Joining a Club
What to Know Before Joining
All matriculated SCSU students can join a club sport team. Part-time and graduate students must pay a $10 fee per semester and obtain accident insurance through the University. A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required to remain in good academic standing. Academic support is available through Recreation and Fitness and the Center for Academic Success and Accessibility Services. Club sport participants represent SCSU and are expected to uphold integrity and sportsmanship. No prior athletic experience is needed to join most teams. Recreation & Fitness supports personal growth and skill development for all participants. Club sport teams are student-run, with input valued from all members, supported by coaches and advisors.
How to Join a Team
- Choose your team of interest.
- Complete the Club Sport Interest Form.
- Go to Owl Connect to find the president of the teams contact information
- Reach out to the team president for information on how to join
