Step Inside the New Home to Health and Human Services
Southern’s new Health and Human Services Building opened to the next generation of healthcare and human services leaders in Fall 2022.
The 94,750-square-foot space will serve as a hub for the majority of the renowned health and human services programs — fostering stronger interdisciplinary connections between students, faculty, and staff — and dramatically enhancing student learning experiences.
Active learning spaces and natural light were prioritized in the design, which encourages those within the various disciplines to work and learn together.
Faculty can collaborate on educational planning.
Students will be exposed to areas outside their own disciplines – better preparing them for their future careers and enhancing our ability to offer exceptional interdisciplinary research and scholarship experiences.
This building will house the School of Nursing and most departments within the College, including Communication Disorders; Health & Movement Sciences; Public Health; Recreation, Tourism, & Sport Management, and Health Systems & Innovation.
