“With God, all things are possible.” This journey has not been easy, to say the least, but one thing has remained faithful through it all: God. Through schedule changes, passing semesters, student teaching, balancing work with full-time school, and through all of the highs and lows, God has remained the constant. As we step into this next chapter, I encourage you to remember that your journey may not always be easy or make sense in the moment, but this is bigger than you. This is about legacy, future generations, and above all to the glory of God. Congratulations, Class of 2026. Never underestimate what God can do through a simple yes and faith the size of a mustard seed.

Favorite Time at SCSU

My favorite part of my time at SCSU was being able to create art while also sharing my faith and love for Jesus through my creativity. I’m grateful for professors like Professor Vu and Professor Patty Bode, who guided me through my journey, and for my cooperating teacher during student teaching, who took me under her wing and helped prepare me for this next chapter. The people I met and the experiences I had shaped not only the educator I’m becoming, but also the person I am today.

What are you going to miss the most, and what are you looking forward to the most?

I’m really going to miss the long studio days and getting to create alongside other artists while perfecting my craft uninterrupted. Those moments of creativity, growth, and community have meant so much to me. At the same time, I’m looking forward to having my own classroom and finally stepping into the season where all of my hard work pays off. I’m excited to inspire future generations through art and begin this next chapter as an educator.

Advice to Incoming Students

My advice to incoming students would be to be mindful of who you surround yourself with because the people around you can influence your journey more than you realize. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, stay after class, or lean on your professors and mentors when you need support. Take risks—join a club, try something new, and step outside of your comfort zone because you never know what opportunities, friendships, or passions you may discover. Stay true to your morals and remember that one mistake or difficult season does not define your future. Most importantly, with God all things are possible. Do your best, and let God do the rest.
