I came to Southern as a transfer student in 2018 and I felt lost and out of place at first. Fortunately with my professors help, students of southern and especially being apart of the Black Student Union, I quickly felt at home. I wish all the graduates success and happiness.

Favorite Time at SCSU

My favorite part of Southern is seeing my friend Martin in most of my classes because I know I’m going to have fun no matter what.

What are you going to miss the most, and what are you looking forward to the most?

I’m going to miss my professors the most especially Dr. Savelli and Dr. Baker because they helped shape the student I am today. I’m looking forward to finding a my dream job and really making a positive impact on the world.

Advice to Incoming Students

I would tell them make sure you ask question when you don’t know something. To students of color specifically don’t ever feel like you don’t belong, because I know imposter syndrome is real. You belong in these spaces and in these conversations.
