Class of 2023, I am super excited for our moment to shine and walk the stage together!

Favorite Time at SCSU

My favorite part of my time at SCSU is New Owl Weekend because as a Peer Mentor and Resident Advisor, I engaged with new students as we welcomed them to the university. I enjoyed meeting new students and making strong, meaningful connections.

What are you going to miss the most, and what are you looking forward to the most?

What I am going to miss the most is working with the students. I’ve held leadership positions as a Peer Mentor, Resident Advisor, Math Tutor, and Commuter Assistant. Through these positions I’ve helped many students and I enjoyed my time advocating for them in a variety of ways. I enjoyed making strong connections with students from events and being able to see them in passing and saying “hi” makes me feel happy. What I am going to miss most is walking around on campus and saying “hi” to people everyday in passing. What I am looking forward to the most is continuing my education here at Southern to pursue my Masters degree in Speech Pathology.

Advice to Incoming Students

I would tell all incoming students is to step out of your comfort zone and get involved. Seize the day and make amazing experiences at Southern because time is going to fly by. Never did I thought 4 years were going to fly by so fast.

The steps you take don’t have to be big ones, they just need to take you in the right direction.

Favorite Time at SCSU

My favorite part of my time here at SCSU was having the privilege to be involved on campus and meet so many amazing new people.

What are you going to miss the most, and what are you looking forward to the most?

I am going to miss my college friends the most but I am looking forward to start graduate school at SCSU in the fall!

Advice to Incoming Students

My best advice for incoming students would be to try new things, get out of your shell and meet as many new people as possible and most importantly, get involved on campus.
