This university is so underrated, it deserves a lot more attention. The education is near the top in quality, and more people should know about it.
I am going to miss nothing, honestly. My main objective coming here was to get a degree and move on. I did enjoy my experiences in the classrooms but did not do much outside of them. I am excited to be presented the opportunities for jobs in the very near future that otherwise would not be options without a college degree.
Don't take your time here for granted. If you thought high school went by fast, wait until you become a college student. It somehow goes by even faster. Do your work on time but don't rush it. Attend your classes. Make some friends while you're at it. Do what you are supposed to do, but never take anything you do here for granted. Your time here is limited, so make the most of it.
My favorite part was being able to attend the events on campus like Southern Idol or the carnivals Southern would organize for us students in the Spring.
I will miss being with my classmates since they brought so much joy to my life. I look forward to meeting new people in my profession who can help make me feel as comfortable and accepted as my classmates made did.
To remember that graduating is not a race, to take your time and remember to put your own mental well being first. School will always be available and around, but your mental well being is a precious thing that requires your top priority.
My favorite part of my time at SCSU was getting involved with my sorority Alpha Sigma Alpha and Greek Life Council. Both of these organizations opened up so many leadership opportunities for me and got me out of my comfort zone! Make the time and effort to get to know new people and have new experiences!
I am going to miss seeing some of my best friends everyday! They have made southern such an amazing experience and I love them! I am looking forward to starting my career in psychology and hopefully one day becoming a juvenile probation officer!
I would say don’t stress yourself out too much! Yes college is hard, but make sure to leave time to make memories and meet new people! College goes by so quick so make the most of it!
My favorite part of my time at SCSU was getting involved on campus! Joining my sorority and programs council gave me so much to do.
I am going to miss seeing my friends on campus and my sorority sisters. I am looking forward to continuing my education and become even closer to achieving my goal.
Definitely become involved on campus, it helped me find my place here at SCSU!
Working at the school newspaper, the Southern News, was definitely my favorite part of being a student at Southern. I learned so much with this experience and met so many people because of it. Shout out to my Southern News buddies: Sofia Rositani and Jaylen Carr! I also cannot forget being Editor-in-Chief of Crescent magazine. As stressful as it was at times, it truly gave me experience outside of the classroom that I needed to be a true magazine editor.
My favorite part of my time here at SCSU has been making forever friends and getting involved on campus.
I am going to miss living with my friends and seeing them everyday. I am looking forward to getting my Master's degree and obtaining a full time job as a Secondary English teacher.
My advice to incoming students would be to get involved, advocate for yourself, and take risks. Time as a college student goes by so fast. College is what you make of it, so enjoy every moment. You will make so many memories that will last a lifetime! Have fun!
Hanging with my friends and enjoying SCSU programs

Manage your time wisely, it’s useful throughout all of your life. But don’t skip out on the fun stuff. Even if you start out on your own, your circle will eventually expand :) DON’T HESITATE TO TRAVEL IF YOU CAN ✈️
Spending time at the gym
The HMS faculty. Im looking forward to start a new chapter of my life.
Don't give up even though there are times where you don't see the light at the end of the tunnel. Trust in God and He will get you through it!
Some of my fondest memories have been spent outside the Buley library late at night with friends.
I’m going to miss being around my friends everyday as well as the busy routine. It’s going to be weird not having homework and class, but I am looking forward to all the free time!
Remain open-minded. Voice your opinions, but listen to others and continue to challenge yourself. You define your college experience, so make sure you are doing what makes you happy!
