My favorite experience as an owl was pushing myself to step outside of my comfort zone, by joining the BSU E-board as Secretary.
I'm going to miss my SCSU family. I'm excited about the next chapter of my life!
Prioritize your time management skills and make a schedule that allows for both studying and self-care. It's also important to stay organized and to take advantage of the resources available on campus, such as tutoring/extra help and office hours with professors. Additionally, I recommend that students get involved in extracurricular activities to meet new people and explore their interest. Lastly, remember to take time to enjoy the college experience and make the most of these transformative years.
My favorite part of my time at Southern was connecting with faculty and making connections that will serve me for years to come.
I'm definitely going to miss studying and taking classes with Juliana Pinto. It was great having a well-established support system. But, I'm looking forward to bonding with my new cohort mates at Fairfield University in their ASDNU Program!
My advice to incoming students is to take your time in deciding what career is best aligned with the life you want! It may be intimidating being surrounded by peers who seem certain, but the comparison will be your downfall. Each journey is unique, embrace your path.

Get involved! Going to class and going home is boring and will not help you feel connected to campus. There are so many opportunities on campus to get involved, just go for it. You will only get as much out of it, as you put into it.
