Dear graduate friends, I have had such an amazing time getting to learn and grow at SCSU. To those in my immediate circle, thank you for your love and support. Your friendships have meant the world to me, man of which I know will last a lifetime. Thank you for making me laugh out loud during classes with your funny group chat messages, thank you for the amazing lunches and dinners together, thank you for helping me study for that seemingly impossible quiz, thank you for supporting me in my academic journey. To the large community of SCSU, thank you for holding space for me, for my queerness, my interests, my voice here on this campus. My college experience has been an unforgettable time of personal growth, academic achievement, and most importantly... fun! Thank you, Kyle Magri

Congrats, fellow Owls! We came in clueless and are leaving a little wiser (hopefully). Thanks for the memories, the chaos, and the growth. Wishing all of us nothing but good vibes and great things ahead. Keep soaring!

Favorite Time at SCSU

All the commuter events with food and prizes and hosting events as MSA president!

What are you going to miss the most, and what are you looking forward to the most?

I’m going to miss my friends and all the free time I had. I’m looking forward to starting a new chapter and finally doing what I’ve been working towards this whole time!

Advice to Incoming Students

Live in the moment, not the past or future. Your time in college goes by so much faster than you think. Also go to all the events that you possibly can! You’ll make new friends, lay back, and enjoy the free food!!

Hey everyone! I just want to say congratulations to everyone! Our moment has finally come! You should all be proud of yourself! WE DID IT! Shoutout to my family and both Kindergarten and 2nd Grade classes at Brass City Charter School! I love you!

My favorite part was joining Alpha Sigma Alpha! I loved my time there and can’t wait to see the chapter grow!

What are you going to miss the most, and what are you looking forward to the most?

Honestly I would say I’ll miss something about SCSU but I’ll be back for Fall 2025 to pursue my Masters Degree! Not leaving the Owls just yet!

Advice to Incoming Students

Honestly take every moment in because time goes by so fast! Take advantage of all the help that SCSU offers because it will help in the long run! Go to those events, join a club, join a frat or sorority because you never know who you can meet! You got this!

We came, we learned, we conquered. We turned the page, now it’s time to write the next chapter with passion, purpose, and joy.

Favorite Time at SCSU

My favorite part was the community. Whether it was connecting with professors who genuinely cared, study sessions with friends, or simply walking across campus between classes, there was always a sense of support and belonging. SCSU gave me more than an education; it gave me memories, confidence, and people who inspired me to keep growing.

What are you going to miss the most, and what are you looking forward to the most?

I’ll really miss the meaningful connections: talking with professors like Professor Anand, who supported and challenged me. I’ll miss spending time with my friend Q, who was a true constant through it all. I’m looking forward to what’s next: growing, creating new opportunities, and continuing on a path I know is leading somewhere great. The sky isn’t the limit, it’s just where I begin.

Advice to Incoming Students

Take your time finding your rhythm; everyone moves at their own pace, and that’s okay. Don’t be afraid to connect with your professors; they can become your biggest supporters. And even if you only make one real friend, that’s enough. Focus on growth, stay true to yourself, and trust that you belong here.

What are you going to miss the most, and what are you looking forward to the most?

I’m going to miss interacting with everyone on campus and all the events that were held!

Advice to Incoming Students

Keep going! The 4 years may seem long, but it’s going to fly by so fast that you wished it slowed down!

One of my favorite memories at SCSU has to be playing table tennis with professors and friends. it was an amazing way to connect, share laughs, and build bonds that made my time here unforgettable.

What are you going to miss the most, and what are you looking forward to the most?

What I'll miss most are the vibrant fun events, the lively energy of the campus, my incredible fellow tutors, and the friends who turned ordinary days into unforgettable ones. What I’m most looking forward to is taking all those cherished memories and lessons with me as I step into new opportunities, ready to embrace the adventures that lie ahead.

Through all our trials and tribulations, we made it—and we did it with grace, strength, and resilience. We are unstoppable models of perseverance, growth, and excellence. This is only the beginning of our greatness. Keep shining, keep pushing, and never forget the power we hold within us. The world better get ready, because we’re coming for everything we deserve!

What are you going to miss the most, and what are you looking forward to the most?

I’m truly going to miss all the incredible people who made my college experience unforgettable. It was definitely a good time, not a long time! I’m excited for the journey ahead and all the new opportunities and paths waiting for me. Here’s to watching my businesses grow and thrive as I continue to walk proudly in my Black excellence!

Advice to Incoming Students

To all the incoming college students—GO OUTSIDE! Don’t spend all your time cooped up in your dorm. Step out, get involved, and be present. Go to the events, the games, the random campus activities. Introduce yourself, make connections, and network—you never know who you’ll meet or what doors will open. Trust me, these experiences will shape your college years in the best way. You won’t regret it!

This has been a rough couple years for all of us I bet, but do not let the negative define and take over your story. God has woken us up everyday these past 4 years and has continued to push faith and motivation into all of us. I am proud of all of you for accomplishing this regardless of what major, gpa, how long it took you to get to this moment, etc. What matters is we did this and we did this together. Feel liberated and feel that moment of being a college graduate. We have all came a long way and whether I know you or not ? I am very proud of you. God bless you all !

Favorite Time at SCSU

My best friend from high school, Shamar Livingston joining SCSU my junior year and us being able to see each other more often.

What are you going to miss the most, and what are you looking forward to the most?

I am looking forward to my upcoming deployment this year. I am the only female leadership in my current unit and I am excited to further my career and show women that you can be in college, work a full time job, and still be boss leader in the military which is a male dominated field.

Advice to Incoming Students

Take your time. A lot can happen in four years. Do not feel like you need to rush anything and take your time. Do not feel discouraged either. Everyone has a different path. I used to beat myself up about how I’m not up to speed, but I took a step back and realized that I do have a lot going on in my life and that I’m on the pace and path that God put me on. You got this. Do not lose faith in God, but do not lose faith in yourself.
