Favorite Time at SCSU

So many to recall. Seeing Joe Biden at Lyman Center, working for the Office of Integrated Communications and Marketing, being a part of Crescent magazine, and interacting with a multitude of staff and students come to mind. The celebrity interactions are also great — Michael Phelps and Leslie Odom Jr. were favorites.

What are you going to miss the most, and what are you looking forward to the most?

I will miss participating and being with my undergraduate friends in the classroom and the newsroom. I will also miss working as a university photographer, showcasing campus life to our university community and beyond. I am looking to pursue a master's degree in strategic communications and public relations, and entering the world of news media, journalism, and public relations very soon!

This has been a long and hard road for many of us, but we made it and now it is time to celebrate all of our hard work! I am proud of myself for being first generation out of my family to graduate. I had a lot of weight to carry and fear of letting others down but I stood up and prevailed. I am truly blessed to have made it this far and have accomplished something this great and I can’t wait to see what’s to come.

Favorite Time at SCSU

My favorite part were the multicultural events and being able to dive into other’s cultural experience through food and tradition, I was able to meet some really cool people.

What are you going to miss the most, and what are you looking forward to the most?

I will miss my chemistry professors the most especially the one’s that helped me when I was lost. I am looking forward to physician assistant school and my future career.

Advice to Incoming Students

I would tell them to get involved of they can, I wish I would’ve gotten more involved in clubs my freshman year. I would tell them that if they are struggling with a course to don’t be afraid to utilize office hours for professors or even PALs and Tutors that are available, they have been a huge help getting me through some of my courses.
