Go forth and do great things—be legendary! In life you will experience many obstacles, but remember as Susan L. Taylor (the most influential editor, writer, and journalist) said, “use missteps as stepping stones to deeper understanding and greater achievement.”

Favorite Time at SCSU

My favorite times at SCSU were bonding with my professors during research and colleagues during study sessions.

What are you going to miss the most, and what are you looking forward to the most?

What I will miss the most are my colleagues and professors. What I am looking forward to the most is engaging in a career that promotes and protects my community’s health. I am also looking forward to continuing to inspire others to fulfil their greatest potential.

Advice to Incoming Students

The advice that I would give to incoming students is to always obtain a paid internship experience during your collegiate summers and participate in community service trips during your Spring Break.

Favorite Time at SCSU

I have been very fortunate to have been able to play field hockey these last 3 years while continuing my education. My favorite time at SCSU was competing in the NE10 but also currently my student teaching experience. Both experiences have allowed me to grow and come out of my comfort zone.

What are you going to miss the most, and what are you looking forward to the most?

I am going to miss seeing my team and my friends all the time along with being able to play field hockey again (after next season). I am looking forward to continuing to give back to the community by becoming a special education teacher and in the future a field hockey coach.

Advice to Incoming Students

My biggest advice for incoming students is to get involved with as much as you can. It allows you to stay busy but also allows you to meet so many people!

It has been an amazing experience to share and connect with my classmates over my four years at SCSU. I hope to see my fellow SCSU alumni in the field, supporting and advocating for others!

Favorite Time at SCSU

One of my favorite times at SCSU was the constant activities, music, and food that were available during the warm weather outside. There is always something fun going on!

What are you going to miss the most, and what are you looking forward to the most?

I will miss being able to talk with my classmates and professors on a regular basis. I feel like I have learned the most through the experience of others and sharing my own experiences. I am looking forward to learning as much as I can about social work and going into the field.

Advice to Incoming Students

If I had one peice of advise to offer incoming students it would be to get involved in something at SCSU. No matter what it is, you will get more of a sense of community and well rounded education if you are able to enjoy everything that SCSU has to offer. Whether it is having an on campus job, joining a sports team, or a club, just do something!

Rember to listen to yourself and follow your truth regardless of what people say; that decision will bring you constancy, happiness, security, and success.

Favorite Time at SCSU

My favorite part of my time at SCSU is being a part of the campus's lively energy. I find that there's comfort in being a part of something bigger than myself.

I think Most of all, I will miss the Art department. The amount of support, encouragement, and direction I received from my professors and advisement is out of this world.
