I would like to congratulate everyone who has put in a lot of hard work amidst this turbulent time of 2020 and 2021. Despite of all the difficult situations, you have managed to graduate and make your family, well wishers and your university proud. It is important to move forward in life. It doesn't matter how small the step is, but it's important that you take the step. Expect less and work more in life. It will always keep you happy.

Favorite Time at SCSU

I loved to sit at the library and study whenever I had a chance. I also enjoyed taking a walk at the university when I needed a break. The faculty and the University were a great support when I was there. The overall environment is great for a learning atmosphere

What are you going to miss the most, and what are you looking forward to the most?

I am going to miss the cafeteria inside the student center building. When you got hungry and you also had a lot to finish, it was the right place to be.

Advice to Incoming Students

Its not about how well you perform when you are around people, but its about how well you perform when you are alone, and nobody is watching. Life is short, you can buy most things but not time. The time today will not return tomorrow so do the right things in life on time. Incomplete things in life can contribute to add stress in your life, so try to complete what you begin. Always remember the less fortunate people in life when you want to stay motivated and finally, there is no easy way to hard work and success. And as Steve jobs said," stay hungry, stay foolish."

It has been a difficult yet rewarding four years and we each have so much to be proud of. We have made friendships and connections that will last us a lifetime, but it is time to start the next chapter! Best of luck on the journey to come & congrats class of 2021 & 2020!

What are you going to miss the most, and what are you looking forward to the most?

I am going to miss seeing the faces of my best friends on campus while in passing, studying in the library, or sitting next to each other at the beginning of an exam. I am looking forward to hearing all of the accomplishments the nursing cohort makes in the coming years and getting out into the field of nursing we are all so passionate about to start making a difference!

Advice to Incoming Students

Take in every single moment! You hear all of the time that college is the fastest 4 years of your life thus far and you honestly do not believe it until it is the end of your senior year. Do not forget to make the moments that will live on with you with the people you love the most and enjoy every second.

Often the job that we secure is not what we envision for ourselves because the job did not turn out to be what we anticipated, or we took it just to pay the bills. We may be tempted to feel disappointed or even despondent. I would like to share some advice that has inspired me over the years: • What ever job you have, always put your best foot forward and do it to the best of your ability • Patience, preparation and perseverance is key • Always set goals and perform the due diligence to reach them • Every experience is a learning one and it is up to you what you take away from it • To stop learning is to stop growing; strive to grow to your fullest potential • Education can get you in the game, but attitude and character determine how well you play

Favorite Time at SCSU

My favorite time in SCSU is getting together with other students, faculty and staff to share and exchange ideas on a variety of subjects. I believe that the nursery for inspiration and innovation is any forum where intellectual ideas can be exchanged without censorship.

What are you going to miss the most, and what are you looking forward to the most?

I am going to miss the support system that acknowledges hard work and determination and makes every effort to help you succeed. I am looking forward to inspiring and being a support to others.

Advice to Incoming Students

This is the time to push yourself, test your limits and to create a path to your place in society. Don’t just strive to get by, find your passion and excel in it. University is an experience, and securing a degree is just part of it. Explore every opportunity of nonacademic exposure like playing key roles in clubs and organizations, this will help you develop leadership qualities and team spirit.

These past four years have been filled with many great memories. To anyone that crossed paths, I want to say thank you. For all the clubs, teachers, and friends who helped me get here thank you. Let's move forward Class of 2021, and make these next steps worth making together.

Favorite Time at SCSU

Joining Alpha Phi Delta Fraternity. As well as living on Campus for my Freshman and Sophomore Year in Schwartz Hall.

What are you going to miss the most, and what are you looking forward to the most?

I am going to miss my undergraduate Fraternity brothers, as well as being apart of Greek Life on Southern's Campus. I am looking forward to applying what I have learned in the Communication Work Place to help others.

Advice to Incoming Students

Don't, give up, and never say never. You have to learn in college how to crawl before you are able to walk. Don't take anything for granted. Seek help when you need to. Also, get involved and make lots of friends.

Congratulations to the Class of 2021! We didn't expect our senior year to be like this, but we managed it and got through it! Good luck with your future endeavors! “When you are deciding on next steps, next jobs, next careers, further education, you should rather find purpose than a job or a career. Purpose crosses disciplines. Purpose is an essential element of you. It is the reason you are on the planet at this particular time in history.” — Chadwick Boseman

Favorite Time at SCSU

My favorite part of my time at SCSU was working for RHA as the programming board chair by creating programs for residents and attending conferences.

What are you going to miss the most, and what are you looking forward to the most?

I’m going to miss living on campus and the friends that I’ve met from different backgrounds, but looking forward to getting a successful career at a television network and entering a new chapter in my life.

Advice to Incoming Students

Expand your options when you’re thinking of changing your major or concentration. Attend classes that you’re interested in regardless of what it is, and if that new major or concentration is something you want to do in your future career, then go for it!
