Having great professors who took the time out to teach and be there for us during the pandemic .
I am going to miss my fellow classmates and looking forward to attending SCSU graduate program to get my masters in Sociology.
Study hard and be yourself. Make sure you keep with your assignments and don't be afraid to ask for help.
I really loved all my four years at Southern! My favorite part of time at SCSU was making such amazing and long-lasting friendships that I'll cherish forever! My biggest highlight was playing Frisbee every afternoon with my fellow research interns during IAF Internship (Summer 2019).
I'm going to miss the most - hanging out with my friends and fellow classmates. Those were some of the best times of my four years at SCSU. I really loved attending all different events hosted by student organizations and clubs and will definitely miss those a lot. I'm looking forward to working as an Ophthalmic Scribe at Consulting Ophthalmologists with different subspecialty ophthalmologists and gaining clinical experience. I'm looking forward to start a new chapter in my life - to attend medical school and become a pediatrician!
Make the most of your time at SCSU! Set goals for yourself and make it happen! Don't be afraid to seek out help when needed, regardless of academic help or not.
My favorite part of my time at SCSU was being able to get involved in ecological research that has helped start my career. The staff, specifically Dr. Brady, work diligently in the Bio department to my dreams to fruition.
I'm going to miss Beaver Pond. Southern's campus has the beauty of urban
Incoming students, get out of your comfort zone. Take the random class that excites you. This is your journey (and debt) take full control of your experience and make the most out of it!
Watching myself and my friends grow. We have changed together in so many positive ways, and the bonds that result from experiencing these shifts together are immeasurable.
In all reality, I think I will miss my campus counselor the most! I am immensely grateful for her wisdom throughout my final year at Southern, and I wouldn't be who I am without her. I am looking forward to casually reading. I have a stockpile of books that I plan to work through!
Take it easy on yourself. Higher education is challenging, and we all have our limits. There is plentiful academic/emotional support at Southern when you need it.
I enjoyed attending student appreciation day every year with my friends. Another favorite part of my time at SCSU were my clinicals, especially my Capstone experience in the Bridgeport Hospital Emergency Department.
I am going to miss the Southern community and my nursing family. I am looking forward to beginning my career as an RN this fall!!
Make sure you find a balance between schoolwork and self-care. Always take time, even if its just one day a week, to relax and take a break from school work.
Bookmarks and all of the friends I’ve made throughout the years.
My friends who are staying behind and the weekly meetings with my friends
Don’t be afraid to ask questions and reach for the stars
My favorite part of my time at Southern has been meeting and spending time with my amazing friends. I am grateful to Southern for connecting our paths. I have also really enjoyed getting involved on campus. Thank you to Katie and the staff in the Academic Success Center, and to Sal, Devon, and Yarelis in the Office of Orientation, Transition, and Family Engagement for all of your support. And thank you to Drs. McCullagh and Zipoli for the opportunity to contribute to the Auditory Processing, Phonology, and Literacy Evaluation research team as an undergraduate research assistant. I am so grateful for these opportunities, they have all been highlights of my time as an undergraduate student here at Southern.
I am looking forward to continuing my education as a student in Southern's master's program in Speech-Language Pathology with my best friends.
The best advice I have is to get involved, whether that is in a club or organization, in research, or as a student worker. Getting involved has been a highlight of my time at Southern, and I have had so many great opportunities and valuable experiences as a result of my campus involvement.
The connections made with fellow students, faculty, and staff as well as the support I received throughout my process.
Not being around the SCSU community as often as when attending. In contrast, I will look forward to making new connections in new academic communities and finishing my next degrees: A Master of Divinity and Doctor of Philosophy in Religion.
There are resources at your disposal and people who care about investing in you; therefore, take advantage of that and honor that.
