My favorite part of being at SCSU is the community. In assembling Celebrating August Wilson, an event that celebrated a renowned playwright, I got to work closely with the SCSU Theatre Department, the Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management Department, and so many other students! It was amazing to plan and exciting to see so many people come together the day-of. I have nothing but love and admiration for the faculty and students at SCSU.
I am going to miss my classmates the most. Every single student has a unique perspective and way of approaching any given problem. I have learned so much from a myriad of students, regardless of their grade or field of study. I am looking forward to being a part of a creative team in whatever capacity I can be as well as helping people.
Have an open mind. Listen to your instructors. Take time for yourself. Read as much as you can. Write as much as you can. Fail as much as you can. Most importantly, believe in yourself. When you view the world from a perspective where things are meant to happen for you, doors will begin to open. When those doors open, get out of your own way and enjoy the ride.
My favorite part of my time at SCSU, would be seeing the morning views for my morning classes and seeing the views and sunset when I had night classes.
I’m going to miss the many events Southern through, and definitely the rush of not knowing if you would make it on time to class as a commuter was always a rush. I look forward to getting a job in my career.
My advice is go to as many events as you can, I know as a someone commuted it can be hard or discouraging to try to attend them. But definitely give it a try they’re really good for making connections and memories.
BSW orientation day scavenger hunt and walking across campus on a sunny day.
Going to miss the campus, my cohort and professors, I’m looking forward to getting my MSW.
Don’t forget to stop and smell the roses! You will miss the journey more than you will love the destination.
Noche de gala, events had going on, free food
Miss the campus, looking forward to the next chapter
