Advice to Incoming Students

The first step is always the scariest. Find people of like minds and don’t be afraid to talk to someone when you feel overwhelmed or stressed or scared.

Congratulations to all, and to all my friends from SCSU TV and the Honors College! I am super sad to go, and sincerely hope you all find your path. It isn't easy out in the real world, but I believe we can overcome anything as long as we remember we aren't powerless. I'm off trying to chase one crazy dream, and I hope none of you forget to chase yours!

Favorite Time at SCSU

SCSU TV and working with my professors in the Communications and Media Studies department. We were able to build a great community of young filmmakers and story tellers, and I loved being able to knock our heads together and make some great movies and TV. I will miss working with you all!

What are you going to miss the most, and what are you looking forward to the most?

It has been a super fun ride at Southern, finding friends with common and uncommon interests, challenging professors who wanted me to grow, and the resources needed to explore my interests and artform. I will miss being with everyone and having the chance to collaborate on new creative projects with everyone.

Advice to Incoming Students

Try to make something outside of your homework, tests, or anything else, but still in line with your major. Demonstrate that you truly love what you study, and you will be able to do something truly special here at Southern.
