The many parties and free food we got.
I’m looking forward to seeing where life takes me on this new journey of finishing college. I’m going to miss the many events southern held for students!
This is your journey, take it one day at a time and remain focused!
My favorite part of being at Southern is the support of the outstanding professors and students. I have been inspired by the personal struggles of many of my peers who have overcome unfortunate circumstances and worked their tail off to advocate for others who are going through the same.
I'm going to miss my classmates who made me feel like I wasn't going through the struggles of getting through this program alone.
My advice to incoming students is your professors want to see you succeed, communicate your needs.

I’m going to miss my friends and the sense of community at Southern but I am excited to have one more year here doing my MSW.
Have fun, stay on top of your work, and be open to new friends, ideas, and activities.
I would have to say that my favorite part of my time here was joining the Programs Council in Student Involvement. I found an amazing job and met a surplus of fun individuals that I called both my coworkers and friends. The job gave me an incredible opportunity to build my leadership skills while running events for the student body.
I’m going to miss hanging out with my friends on a daily basis. But I am looking forward to see where life takes me as an adult.
Don’t be afraid to come out of your shells. I was very introverted most of my childhood and when I got to college I really came out and found a group of friends that have stuck with me all the way. Because of this, I have had so many fun experiences that I will always remember. Take advantage of this time period in your lives.

HAVE FUN! Join as many organizations as possible and let your guard down. College is supposed to be fun.
Turn your can’ts into cans!
Met a handful of people that I can call friends I made in the social work program.
I am going to miss hearing other students' stories and perspectives regarding life and the challenges they've faced. I am looking forward to working as a social worker.
You are your best advocate, don't be afraid to ask questions or express feelings towards assignments, sometimes it is too much sometimes the question is unclear, don't leave yourself in doubt, our professors are there for us, therefore, speak up and ask questions to get a worthy grade and never procrastinate.

The best part as Southern was all the events that the campus community offers throughout the semester where students can hang out, meet new people, and create new friendships.
The things that I will miss the most about Southern are the times that I spent on campus with the people who I connected with, the times that I spent with my team preparing for and playing games, and the times that I spent participating in on-campus events. I look forward to continuing my education and then applying what I learned at Southern in the future
Enjoy every single day on campus making memories and friends. 4 years seem like a long but in the end, they are going to fly by quickly.
Never give up on yourself; You are your only limit! -Paige XOXO
My favorite experiences at Southern are with the families I have made. I will never forget my CSA family, who are all crazy in the best ways, my MCC family who taught me that friendship comes in different forms, and my Wilkinson family who gave me joy and laughter.
I will miss being a part of a community committed to the engagement and involvement of the student population. I look forward to seeing what is in store for the Southern campus and how they move forward in their goals of becoming a DEI institution. I also look forward to seeing what my peers accomplish in the world following graduation.
You’re here for a reason so don’t waste the opportunity. Use this experience to gain the knowledge you seek but don’t forget to indulge in the fun. Join a club or organization, meet new friends, get involved; the best way to experience Southern is through the people.
My favorite part of my time at SCSU was the clubs and organizations I was fortunate to have been apart of. I met my family away from home, built wonderful relationships and bonds with amazing people, and became apart of a larger community of people.
I will miss being around familiar faces and the sense of belonging. I look forward to taking the skills I’ve acquired and cultivating a career and life filled with success.
I would advise incoming students to get involved! There are so many opportunities to meet people, have fun, help others, acquire real life skills, and gain leadership skills. I would also advise students to take advantage of the resources on campus; mental health, counseling, advisement, academics help, etc. Balancing your academic, social, and personal life, and even athletics, can be very overwhelming and you can fall behind quickly. Don’t be afraid to reach out to others!
