A lot of us are 2020 high school graduates and life seemed so unreal back then, and the world felt like it was over. But look at us now, we did it! The last four years have been filled with chaos, happiness, and the unknown. But through all of it we stayed strong and adapted. Congratulations class of 2024, I am so proud of us all.

Becoming a resident advisor and getting to work directly with students. This role allowed me to move onto campus for the first time and become much more involved in the Southern community.

I am going to miss going to so many campus events and having a diverse schedule. I am looking forward to starting Southern’s MFT program in the fall and continuing my role as a Graduate RA.

Advice to Incoming Students

Get as involved as you can. This is supposed to be one of the best times in your life and you will not regret partaking in all the events that Southern offers. Join clubs and organizations and try taking on leadership roles because you will meet so many wonderful people that will make your time here 10x better. Undergrad was truly where I found myself and my confidence as an independent person and I have loved every minute of it.

Cum Laude

To my fellow graduates, first and foremost, congratulations on your achievement, and I wish every one of you success in your future endeavors. Failure can be seen as a sword; you can be the one holding it and learning to swing, or you can be on the opposite end, taking the hit and giving up. The goal is to continue striving no matter what life throws your way. I am still unsure about my future and what to do, but I am doing what I can to prevail and take hold of my life in hopes that I will find my calling.
