Get involved! You’re going to be here for the next 4 years, take advantage of clubs, organizations, and events on campus!
My favorite part of being at SCSU was joining my sorority Alpha Sigma Alpha and meeting some of my best friends. Life wouldn't have been the same with out these amazing women.
Don't take your time here for granted. It goes by so fast and before you know it, you will be graduating too! Enjoy every moment you have and live your best life.
Becoming a resident advisor and getting to work directly with students. This role allowed me to move onto campus for the first time and become much more involved in the Southern community.
I am going to miss going to so many campus events and having a diverse schedule. I am looking forward to starting Southern’s MFT program in the fall and continuing my role as a Graduate RA.
Get as involved as you can. This is supposed to be one of the best times in your life and you will not regret partaking in all the events that Southern offers. Join clubs and organizations and try taking on leadership roles because you will meet so many wonderful people that will make your time here 10x better. Undergrad was truly where I found myself and my confidence as an independent person and I have loved every minute of it.
My favorite part of SCSU was meeting the many different people that attended southern! I enjoyed being a cheerleader & a club volleyball player here. I believe each thing I did as far as clubs and sports it was always accepting and warm, not only that but I made lifelong friends!
I am going to miss the events, such as the football tailgate, the cultural fest and especially the annual multicultural heritage ball! What I look forward to is starting a new chapter in my life as a teacher and help shape the young minds within the next generation.
Do not give on yourself or education. I know it gets hard but IT IS worth it in the long run, it is worth the next chapter you will face. You got this! If no one believes in you, I definitely do! Hard times are not forever, you’ll see it through!
All the wonderful people I met.
I’m going to miss my professors and nursing instructors. But I look forward to beginning my nursing journey.
Keep God first, take time out for self care, and don’t procrastinate!
My favorite part of my time here at SCSU is definitely being involved in the Geography, Environmental, and Marine Sciences club. We had so many fun events and I will miss everyone so much.
I am definitely going to miss playing pool with my friends in the student center. I will also miss my professors as they have helped me with so much. Overall, i am really looking forward to beginning my career when it comes to what I want to do in life.
Try to step outside of your comfort zone! There are so many amazing people on campus and you will make a lot of friends. There are also a lot of fun events where you can enjoy yourself and meet new people.
Meeting new people.
I will miss belonging to an organization that cares for its students. I am looking forward to not doing any homework past 5 pm.
I suggest learning time management for any student of any age, coming from every background. It is probably the most essential skill to know when it comes to college.
